If Hollywood teaches us anything, it’s that nothing is sacred. No matter how distinctive or beloved a movie might be, it could well be subject to a remake. Just this year we’ll be seeing reboots of ‘Evil Dead,’ ‘Carrie‘ and ‘Old Boy.’ And in the works are revamps of ‘RoboCop,’ ‘The Naked Gun’ and ‘Escape From New York.’
We’ve wondered before what might come next in the remake/reboot pipeline, but this time around we imagined reboots starring some of our favorite leading men from Idris Elba to Channing Tatum. Also Maggie Smith because no one gives sass like Lady Violet Crawley.
Frankly, this might be an improvement. It just depends who they would get to replace the late, great Dennis Hopper.
Any time we don't have to watch Tom Cruise in a movie is a plus. At the same time, any time we get to watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a movie is also a plus. So... double plus?
Hardy's sort of laid the groundwork for this with 'Bronson,' so it's not that much of a stretch.
Ugh. They *would* put Channing Tatum in a 'Naked Gun' remake. We suppose his partner would have to be Ray Lewis.
Does it seem too soon for a 'Forrest Gump' remake? Yeah, well that movie came out almost 20 years ago. Congratulations -- we're all officially old now.
There's no way Ferris Bueller could pull these hijinks off in today's world. Facebook would do him in before lunch.
ooh! Oooh! Will they both talk with British accents? That is literally all we can think when we look at this.
Ace Ventura also came out close to 20 years ago. Will Forte might not have a rubber face, but we think it would be interesting to see how somebody who isn't Jim Carrey plays the part. Plus, it's not like 'Macgruber' is getting a sequel anytime soon.
