Madonna auction: the nine most unusual items

More than 140 items of Madonna memorabilia will go under the hammer next month as part of an Icons & Idols:

Rock ‘n' Roll auction held by the California-based auctioneer Julien's. Dedicated Madonna fans will be able to bid for the iconic fuchsia gown from Madonna's 1985 Material Girl video, which is expected to sell for between $20,000 and $40,000 (approximately £12,500-£25,000), and for a number of the suits, jewellery and evening dresses worn by the singer in the 1996 film Evita.
However, if you're a really dedicated Madonna fan, there are a few slightly more unusual items up for auction. Here's our pick of the strangest lots.
1. Madonna's post-marital agreement
The best way to feel close to your favourite star? Collect memorabilia related to their marital breakdown. Signed by Madonna and her then-husband Sean Penn ahead of their 1989 split, the document above is titled “Cancellation of Post-Marital Agreement and Acknowledgement Concerning Pre-Marital Property.” It appears to have been drawn up in 1988, when divorce papers were filed, then recalled, after the couple agreed to give their ill-fated marriage one last try. If you feel like getting to grips with the legal minutiae of someone else's divorce, bids start at $300.
