The latest leak of its sales guide provides details about its key features. If it is to be believed, the All New HTC One will come with a 5-inch display. Its processor will be a quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 with 2GB RAM. As per the leak, it will have a 2,600 mAh and microSD slot to expand its memory. Apple launches CarPlay that integrates iPhone with car

Apple has launched CarPlay at the sidelines of Geneva International Motor Show 2014. The CarPlay integrates an iPhone with the car, making it convenient to use the phone while driving.

To roll out CarPlay, Apple tied up with leading manufactures.

Users can control CarPlay from the car's native interface or just push-and-hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to activate Siri without distraction, the Apple said in a press release. The CarPlay makes it easy for iPhone users to make calls, use Maps and access many other things even while driving with voice command or a touch.
Vehicles from Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo will premiere CarPlay to their drivers this week, while additional auto manufacturers bringing CarPlay to their drivers down the road include BMW Group, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai Motor Company, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia Motors, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan Motor Company, PSA Peugeot Citroƃ«n, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota Motor Corp, the press release further said.

How it works

Apple says "CarPlay makes driving directions more intuitive by working with Maps to anticipate destinations based on recent trips via contacts, emails or texts, and provides routing instructions, traffic conditions and ETA. You can also simply ask Siri and receive spoken turn-by-turn directions, along with Maps, which will appear on your car's built-in display. The CarPlay also supports select third-party audio apps including Spotify and iHeartRadio, so you can listen to your favorite radio services or sports broadcast apps while driving."

On its pricing and availability, the US tech major says "CarPlay is available as an update to iOS 7 and works with Lightning-enabled iPhones, including iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5. CarPlay will be available in select cars shipping in 2014."

Facebook looks to buy solar drone company: Reports

Facebook is in talks to buy Titan Aerospace, a maker of solar-powered drones, to step up its efforts to provide Internet access to remote parts of the world, according to reports from technology blog Techcrunch and financial news outlet CNBC.
Both websites cited anonymous sources who are familiar with the deal and put a purchase price at $60 million.

Facebook spokesman Tucker Bounds said on Tuesday that the company does not comment on rumors and speculation. Titan Aerospace representatives did not respond to requests for comment.

If Facebook does buy Titan Aerospace, the purchase could fit with the goals of CEO Mark Zuckerberg's Internet.org project. The Facebook-led partnership, which includes Qualcomm Inc., Samsung and Nokia, was launched last summer and aims to connect the more than 5 billion of the world's 7 billion people who are not already online. Presumably, Internet.org could use Titan's solar-powered atmospheric satellites to serve as airborne wireless access points.

Google Inc., which is not a part of the Internet.org effort, launched a similar undertaking earlier this year with the goal of getting everyone on Earth online. Called Project Loon, the effort launched Internet-beaming antennas aloft on giant helium balloons.

Titan's drone-like atmospheric satellites, which are still in development and not yet commercially available, can stay in the air for as long as five years, according to reports. Titan's website cites a wide range of uses for the drones, including atmospheric and weather monitoring, disaster response and voice and data communications. The last two could be reasons for Facebook's interest in Titan.

But Zuckerberg said last week at the Mobile World Congress wireless show that access connectivity is not the main obstacle to getting the world online. He said more than 80 percent of the world's population live in areas with 2G or 3G wireless access. More important, he said, is giving people a reason to connect: basic financial services, access to health care information and educational materials.

Facebook's acquisition of a company called Onavo last fall also fits with Internet.org's vision. Onavo develops data compression technology, which helps applications run more efficiently. This is especially important in developing countries, where people have access to much slower Internet speeds.

20 gadgets that changed the world

20 gadgets that changed the world

Game-changing tech

Judging by Apple's recent job postings and trademark filings, it seems inevitable that the company is planning to launch an iWatch in the near future. When it does arrive, it'll join a host of new and exciting technology, including 4K television sets, bendable mobile phone screens and more - but will it have the same dramatic impact as the iPod, iPhone and iPad did? We've gathered together a gallery of some of the very best gadgets that really did change the world. Each one of these technological innovations has ensured its place in history by transforming the way we live our lives and communicate with each other - from the Morse code-powered telegraph machine to the smartphone, there's a lot of pioneering technology to explore.

The Personal Computer

The Game Boy, with a little help from an obscure game called Tetris, proved that hand-held gaming could work. Up until the Game Boy's release in 1989, companies had been frustrated in their attempts to get us all gaming on the move. Despite stiff contemporary competition from the likes of the Atari Lynx and Sega Game Gear (both boasting colour screens, no less), the Game Boy came to dominate the market. Together with its successor, the Game Boy Colour, it went on to sell over 188 million units worldwide. Hand-held gaming is enjoying something of a renaissance, thanks to the capabilities of the mobile smartphones we all carry around with us now and titles such as Angry Birds, but the Game Boy was the true pioneer, and is one of Nintendo's biggest ever successes. It also proved that long battery life, ease of use and gameplay can win out against a straight head-to-head specifications comparison
