Famed tattoo artist Kat Von D's West Hollywood shop is on fire. According to TMZ, Los Angeles Fire Department was called to celebrity hotspot High Voltage Tattoo around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23.
It took fire fighters several hours to put out the blaze, the site reports. Around 6:30 a.m. there were no flames visible at the tattoo shop but fire fighters were still inside the building. It's not clear if anyone was hurt in the fire and fire fighters have not said what started the blaze.
High Voltage Tattoo became the "it" place because of Kat Von D's reality show "LA Ink," which was cancelled in 2011. The tattoo artist has inked some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Harry Styles and Jessie James.

Mel Brooks: funny moments and facts
As Mel Brooks is honoured by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, we present some highlights from the film director, writer, actor and comedian's career
Mel Brooks’s way with words shouldn’t go unrecognised. Here are a few snippets of wisdom:
“Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.”
“I have always been a huge admirer of my own work. I'm one of the funniest and most entertaining writers I know.”
“Bad taste is simply saying the truth before it should be said.”

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, review: 'there's one big missed trick'
Wishing the worst possible day on all your family members is a premise guaranteed to be constrained by parental guidance. At 18, you could call your main character Medea and be done with it. At PG, we get serial humiliation, mild burns, potential job loss and a scatological printing gaffe, but little that could be considered a truly alarming hex from above.
The suspiciously brisk running time of this family comedy begs some further questions. The class gerbil is entrusted into the hero’s possession in the first reel, and never seen again. Whether it’s merely a victim of the cutting room floor, or is running around somewhere experiencing its own answer to a Saw sequel, it’s hard to say.
The motives of Alexander (Ed Oxenbould), when he blows out a candle hours before his 12th birthday and initiates this fateful curse, aren’t purely malicious.

c: I'm enjoying the single life
James Nesbitt, the Babylon actor, says he is enjoying being single after separating from his wife last year
James Nesbitt chalks up his first anniversary as a singleton this month after his break-up with Sonia Forbes-Adam, his wife of 19 years and the mother of his two daughters. It is not taking too great a toll.
“My family is living in Herne Hill and I’m renting in Dulwich,” the affable actor tells me, laconically. “You’ll find me in the pub twice a week. I’m enjoying the single life, and, oh yes, the celibate life.”

Dame Maggie Smith as homeless Lady In The Van: first pictures
The actress is filming The Lady In The Van, the true story of a homeless woman who lived for 15 years outside the home of playwright Alan Bennett
Dame Maggie Smith has swapped her Downton Abbey finery for a less glamorous look.
The actress is filming The Lady In The Van, the true story of a homeless woman who lived for 15 years outside the home of playwright Alan Bennett.
Bennett detailed his often strained relationship with the eccentric Miss Shepherd in his diaries, and later turned it into a play.
It is now being made into a BBC film directed by Nicholas Hytner. Dame Maggie was unrecognisable in a flat cap and dirty raincoat as she filmed her scenes with Alex Jennings, who plays Bennett. James Corden was also present, playing a local market trader.

Kate Moss to star in David Walliams’ The Boy in the Dress
Supermodel Kate Moss has found fame as a mute and motionless (oh, did we forget beautiful?) campaign and catwalk star of the fashion world. But as she enters her 40th year, she's commanding more and more TV work.
ollowing on from her stint on Channel 4's Googlebox in aid of Stand Up To Cancer last Friday (alongside party pals Naomi Campbell and Liam Gallagher), PA reports that Moss has scored a cameo in her comedian friend David Walliams' BBC1's adaptation of children's book The Boy in the Dress.

The film will be shown this Christmas and Moss will play herself - a part she is more than used to playing on camera thanks to a 2012 stint for a Sport Relief special of Absolutely Fabulous.
The Boy in the Dress centres on 12-year-old cross dresser Dennis Sims, and will star Meera Syal, Inbetweeners star James Buckley and Ab Fab writer and star, Jennifer Saunders. Croydon-born Moss will appear in a fantasy scene during the hour-long scene.

Keira Knightley to make Broadway debut next year
Keira Knightley will make her Broadway debut next year in a new stage adaptation of Émile Zola's classic 1867 novel Thérèse Raquin.
Adapted by British playwright Helen Edmundson and directed by Evan Cabnet, the production will open the Roundabout Theatre Company’s 50th anniversary season.
Although Knightley – who's starred in films such as Anna Karenina and Atonement – hasn't performed on Broadway before, she does have West End experience: in 2009, she appeared in a production of Molière’s The Misanthrope and two years later was in Lillian Hellman’s The Children’s Hour.

Madonna auction: the nine most unusual items
More than 140 items of Madonna memorabilia will go under the hammer next month as part of an Icons & Idols:
Rock ‘n' Roll auction held by the California-based auctioneer Julien's. Dedicated Madonna fans will be able to bid for the iconic fuchsia gown from Madonna's 1985 Material Girl video, which is expected to sell for between $20,000 and $40,000 (approximately £12,500-£25,000), and for a number of the suits, jewellery and evening dresses worn by the singer in the 1996 film Evita.
However, if you're a really dedicated Madonna fan, there are a few slightly more unusual items up for auction. Here's our pick of the strangest lots.
1. Madonna's post-marital agreement
The best way to feel close to your favourite star? Collect memorabilia related to their marital breakdown. Signed by Madonna and her then-husband Sean Penn ahead of their 1989 split, the document above is titled “Cancellation of Post-Marital Agreement and Acknowledgement Concerning Pre-Marital Property.” It appears to have been drawn up in 1988, when divorce papers were filed, then recalled, after the couple agreed to give their ill-fated marriage one last try. If you feel like getting to grips with the legal minutiae of someone else's divorce, bids start at $300.
