Selena Gomez Asked To Apologize For Wearing Bindi During MTV Movie Awards Performance!

As if dealing with her Justin Bieber split wasn’t enough, Selena Gomez is finding herself in some major hot water.

The triple threat is at the center of the dramz after performing at theMTV Movie Awards while wearing a Bollywood-style outfit paired with a bindi!

The Universal Society of Hinduism is demanding an apology from the starlet for what they believe was an insensitive getup.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed commented:

“The bindi on the forehead is an ancient tradition in Hinduism and has religious significance. It is also sometimes referred to as the third eye and the flame, and it is an auspicious religious and spiritual symbol… It is not meant to be thrown around loosely for seductive effects or as a fashion accessory aiming at mercantile greed. Selena should apologise and then she should get acquainted with the basics of world religions.”

But they weren’t the only ones demanding Selenita feel bad about heractions.

Twitter users went after the singer as some posted messages like :

“Selena Gomez, take that bindi of (sic) your head, cultural appropriation is not cute.”

“@selenagomez Hi, leave Bindis for Indian women.”

Selena has yet to respond to the demands and negative reactions.

We’re not sure if she will, but we thought she looked AH-Mazing!

She certainly hasn't been the first non-Hindu celeb to sport a bindi (helloooo, Gwen Stefani), and we doubt she'll be the last.
