I think it goes without saying that I am kind of obsessed with love. It consumes my days and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Reading a description from a Bride like this beauty below that is simply overflowing with joy gets me all giddy inside, and the beautiful images from Kayla Adams that illustrates her gorgeous day just make me want to stand up and cheer. From Kayla Adams… Rob and Dolly were married at the Desmond Tutu Conference Center in Manhattan last fall. Earlier that week though, they officially tied the knot at New York City Hall in front of the two friends that originally set them up years ago. Rob was part of the team that helped renovate City Hall a couple years ago, so the day was incredibly special for them being there. After the ceremony, we walked over to the Wedding Garden across the street, snapped a few photos, then met up in Brooklyn to take some portraits. Dolly grew up spending time with her family in Rockaway Beach (which is still recovering from the damage from Sandy), and we hit up all her favorite spots. In light of the hurricane, I know a lot of these spots are really special for her and her family.

From the Bride… After Rob and I got engaged, we started looking for venues practically right away. We were living in North Carolina at the time, and briefly thought about getting married there, but since most of our family and friends live in New York, it only made sense to celebrate close to the people we love.

One constraint we had was that we wanted to have an outdoor wedding (hard to do in New York City) and we came to realize that, surprisingly, we wanted a bigger wedding then we anticipated.  As we set out to plan a wedding in New York, we had a feeling in the back of our minds that the wedding planning could get away from us quickly, and we wanted to maintain a sense of connectedness and privacy for ourselves. We decided to have the best of both worlds and have both a traditional wedding, where we could hang out with everyone we care about and a private ceremony for us, at the City Clerk’s Marriage Bureau, two days before the traditional wedding. Our “City Hall” wedding was magical. We took the subway in the morning to the City Clerk’s office, blending in with commuters, feeling like we were keeping a huge secret.

At the City Clerk, we met our witnesses (the two friends who introduced us) and our photographer, the lovely and talented Kayla Adams.  While we were waiting for our number to be called we took some photos in the gorgeously renovated space, which was a lot of fun. While we were dating, Rob supervised the Bureau’s renovation, which gave the venue added meaning. The ambiance of the space was surreal. Couples in all shapes, colors, ages, sizes, and dress codes were there to make a commitment to one another. It felt like the Love DMV! When our number was called, we were lucky enough to get a sincere, New Yawk-accented clerk who had a huge stage presence. After we were married, we took a cab to have a celebratory lunch in Chinatown. The day was ours alone and it was fantastic.

Our traditional wedding took place at the Desmond Tutu Center in Chelsea. After seeing numerous venues in New York that fell short in some way, we found one we both loved for its gothic architecture, history, convenience, and gorgeous courtyard. Having our family and friends surrounding us outside under a canopy of trees during our ceremony was a powerful experience. I’m so glad we got to have part of our wedding outdoors. We had a great time at our traditional wedding and wouldn’t want to have done it any other way.

My unsolicited advice to couples is to sit down and think about what you want from your wedding.  Whatever that may look like, there may be a way to incorporate everyone and everything you want — either traditionally or not or both!

Facebook and Bing are continually growing closer together, especially through the search engine’s Social Sidebar. Starting last Friday, Bing users with the Social Sidebar could like and comment on Facebook posts directly on the site. SocialTimes For instance, if a user searches for Beyoncé, he might see a post in the social sidebar from a Facebook friend who says she has an extra ticket to an upcoming concert. He can now also comment on the post from the search results page saying he wants the ticket. The Next Web Bing has included likes, photos and profile information from Facebook for a while in its social sidebar. At the start of the year, Microsoft added status updates, shared links and comments for more context. PC Magazine “If you’re like us, it’s hard to keep up with what friends are posting on an ongoing basis, and harder still to search and find specific topics that your friends may have posted about,” Bing program manager Nektarios Ioannides wrote in a blog post Friday. “By bringing together Bing and Facebook, you have an easy way to complement your search with helpful, interesting or insightful content your friends have shared.” CNET Bing has been continually updating the bar with subtle enhancements ever since its release to better blend social data with search results, and to assist searchers in finding friends or experts who may be able to shed more light on their queries.

A website built by two programmers, Stephen LaPorte and Mahmoud Hashemi, displays recent changes to Wikipedia in real-time on a map of the world. When a new change is saved to the crowd-sourced encyclopedia, the title of the edited article shows up on the map with the editor’s location according to his or her IP address.

More U.S. Teens Killed Texting While Driving Than Drinking
Texting while driving has now replaced drunken driving as the No. 1 cause of teenage deaths on the road in the United States, new research has found. The study, performed by the Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New York, found that more than 300,000 teens are injured and more than 3,000 die each year as a result of sending SMS messages while behind the wheel.

Intimacy 2.0, a Smart Dress that Turns Clear When You’re Aroused

Somebody call the futurist fashion police! Dutch designerStudio Roosegaarde has unveiled (ha!) the Intimacy 2.0, a dress that turns clear when the wearer is hot and bothered. Mee-oww.

The dress is made of smart e-foils, which use wireless technology, LED lights and other materials to respond to bodily cues. When the heart races and body heat rises, signifying arousal, the foils respond accordingly/sexily.

Although the concept isn’t entirely new — the company has been working on prototypes since 2010 — its new 2.0 line has been making its rounds online in advance of Valentine’s Day. Studio Roosegaarde also has other high-tech garments in mind: “We’re currently working on a suit for men which becomes transparent when they lie.”

A suit that turns clear when men lie, huh?  Honey, better off just handing out a bunch of clear suits.  Am I right, ladies?  (Cue canned laughter as my bow-tie spins).

Nolan’s “Interstellar” Seen Adding Hathaway

Loved by many and for some reason hated by probably more. That’s Anne Hathaway in a sentence, but fortunately (for her) none of the detractors seem to be big-time Hollywood directors. Quite on the contrary, as it appears Christopher Nolan, one of the hottest filmmakers in today’s industry, is very taken with her.

The director/writer/producer has worked with Hathaway at his latest big-budget project, the 2012 “Dark Knight Rises”, and, if we are to believe the rumors, the two’s collaboration will extend for the 2014 “Interstellar”.

That’s Nolan’s Batman follow-up, currently in pre-production and whose male leading role will be played by Matthew McConaughey. Details are very slim on the plot and we don’t know exactly what could Hathaway’s role be in it, but something tells us it’s going to be a pivotal one (and likely a little classier than Catwoman).

After all, the Brooklyn-born actress is a recent Academy Award winner, and, even if she doesn’t have a lot on her plate for the time being, she’s probably looking for more screen time in films. The only other upcoming project with Hathaway on board is a drama called “Laggies” and set to be directed by Lynn Shelton (“Your Sister’s Sister”).

Appidemic: Zoombies: Animales de la Muerte! for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Welcome to kids’ day at the zoo. Unfortunately, the animals seem to be turning into zombies, so if the kids aren’t squeamish they can help take them out.

What is it?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is another zombie killer game. The twist is your hero is a little kid and the zombies are the animals in a zoo. You start with what amounts to a boomerang hatchet. The object of the game to destroy the zombies and keep them from escaping; if three or more zombies get past you, you lose the round. You also have to save the animals which have not yet been zoombified—don’t worry, they are exempt from your weapons and attacks.

When you destroy a zoombie, it will drop a coin. Touch the coins to collect them because you can, of course, spend them on more weapons and power-ups.

How does it work?

The look is cartoonish and as light as it can be with zoombie guts and blood flying around. It isn’t too bad, but be judicious about what your young one(s) can handle. The background music sounds a bit like a Mexican restaurant, but it isn’t overpowering.

The setting is a Mexican zoo, so the theme is appropriate—Zoombies even includes coin filled or zoombie filled piñatas (and who doesn’t like piñatas?). The game play is very easy; just touch the screen and trace a line with your finger. The boomerang hatchet will follow whatever path you trace and return to you as soon as it is done following your line. All the while it will be lopping off zoombie heads, so you really can get them coming and going (just like the tax man).

There are other weapons which overcome the various defenses of the differing types of zoombies so spend you coins wisely.

Is it contagious?

Zoombies: Animales de la Muerte! comes with a price tag of $2.99. The coin collection is a bit slow, but you can buy more coins (of course). The game difficulty builds at a good pace, and the clincher is you get to whack zombie monkeys! Woohooo!

Overall, this game was fun to play and not too pricey. There are plenty of levels and weapons to hold your interest, and you’ll get some good play time for your investment.

Valery Gergiev: conducted 18 concerts in 8 days

Valery Gergiev during the last eight days has conducted eighteen concerts (sic!) in twelve cities as part of the 12th Moscow Easter Festival that he founded in 2002. Festival events take place not only in Moscow but in many Russian regions. The Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra is a regular participant of the Festival. Travelling on board a special chartered train, Maestro Gergiev conducted concerts in Moscow (May 5, afternoon and evening), Smolensk (May 6, morning and afternoon), Bryansk (May 6, evening), Belgorod (May 7, morning), Kursk (May 7, afternoon), Oryol (May 7, evening), Tula (May 8, morning), Kaluga (May 8, evening), Moscow (May 9, afternoon and evening), Nizhny Novgorod (May 10, afternoon and evening), Kostroma (May 11, morning), Yaroslavl (May 11, evening), Vologda (May 12, afternoon) and Cherepovets (May 12, evening). Concerts from May 5 to 9 featured pianist Denis Matsuev, while the Mariinsky Opera Soloists and the Mariinsky Chorus joined the orchestra for a set of concerts from May 10 to 12 to perform oratorial works and operas. For the next couple nights Valery Gergiev conducts a double bill at the new Mariinsky Theatre (Mariinsky II) — Igor Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du printemps (world premiere choreographed by Sasha Waltz) and Sergei Prokofiev’s The Prodigal Son (choreographed by George Balanchine, 1929).

I’m not sure what kind of e ndurance record has been broken here, but I’m not sure it’s something to be proud of. Unless he’s out to prove that he really deserves the Hero of Labour Prize. In olden times, he would have been called a Stakhanovite.

Is Johnson & Johnson Heading Off The Patent Cliff?

Thirteen months after Rex Ryan proclaimed that "Tim Tebow is going to be a major contributor to our football team," the Jets released the backup quarterback and punt protector.So, where should Tebow take his game now? The knee-jerk reaction: the CFL. But that's not realistic for several reasons, including that it wouldn't be particularly lucrative, and he would be competing for a backup job.

On Monday, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora wrote that "it's unlikely Tebow will garner much interest as a quarterback, but if he is willing to take on a fullback/H-back/tight end role, then his prospects of staying in the league would increase."

This reminded us of something Hall of Famer and former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe, now a television analyst for CBS' NFL Today, told us back in August 2011 when Tebow was still Kyle Orton's backup in Denver and Tebowmania hadn't taken over the NFL.

We asked Sharpe about Tebow's prospects at positions other than quarterback, and essentially, it comes down to this: It's one thing to transition to wide receiver. It's something else entirely to try to play tight end or fullback.

"I'm sure (Buffalo Bills wide receiver) Brad Smith would love to play quarterback in the National Football League but that wasn't in the cards," Sharpe told CBSSports.com at the time. "He comes in to be a wildcat quarterback or occasionally take a snap here or there, but for the most part, he's earned his niche as a return guy and a receiver.

"And he's going to have a nice productive career, make a decent living, and he's going to be able to tell his kids that 'I played in the National Football League.' As opposed to, 'Yeah, I was quarterback and tried to play in the league and it didn't happen.' I think that's a better story -- 'I played 10-12 years in the National Football League' as opposed to saying 'Hey, I was a quarterback who wanted to play in the National Football League.'

We asked Sharpe if Tebow would be better off moving to tight end or H-back.

"It's a mindset," he said without hesitation. "I don't know if he has the mindset for that. I understand that if you play in the National Football League everybody's tough, but there are levels of toughness. And for a quarterback to think he's going to play something else -- especially one of those positions … now a quarterback can move to wide receiver, but to move to a fullback, H-back or tight end, that's a whole different mentality.

"Playing one of those positions is a mindset because you realize, for the most part, that the guy you're going up against is always bigger than you. I was always smaller than any linebacker I blocked, always smaller than any (defensive) end I blocked. But you have to have a mindset that says, 'OK, I have to get the job done.' So I don't know if he has the mindset to make that transition.

"But who knows. Maybe in (Tebow's) mind it's either quarterback or bust and he says, 'Well, if I can't play quarterback then that's it.'"

There have been reports that Tebow has no interest in playing anything but quarterback. Perhaps the realization that his NFL future hinges on giving up that dream will force him to reconsider. The problem, as Sharpe pointed out a year and a half ago, is this: Just because you're built like a tight end or an H-back doesn't automatically make you one.

"That's the great part about the National Football League," Sharpe said prophetically at the time. "It's never based on who you know -- this is a bottom-line business: can you or can't you play? And that's what Tim Tebow is finding out."

Jessica Alba Celebrates Mother's Day With "Big Girl" Honor

Jessica Alba spent some pre-Mother's Day quality time with her eldest daughter, Honor, in West Hollywood on Saturday. The duo hit up a hair salon together and later stopped by a grocery store to pick up a few items. For Mother's Day yesterday, Jessica spent time with her daughters and her mom. She posted a photo on Instagram of her girls day, saying, "Happy Mother's Day. My mamacita and big girl." Jessica is spending time with her family after a few busy weeks of traveling. She attended the 2013 Met Gala last Monday and spent several days in Seoul, South Korea, in the beginning of the month to promote her online company, The Honest Company.
